You think you have it bad? How about that Joseph guy from the Old Testament?

Sold as a slave by his own brothers. Falsely accused of rape. Left to languish in prison. How did he do it? How did he survive?

I suspect the answer is found in these five words: “The Lord was with Joseph.”1

Not a bad deal, huh? Joseph had God almighty on His side the whole time. We should be so lucky, right?

Well, we are so lucky. Here’s the Lord’s promise to all of us: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."2

Joseph survived and so can we. And how? Our heavenly Father loves us so much that He’s got our back.

So the next time you’re on your knees, riddled with pain and reeling from the heartaches of life, remember this: The Lord helped Joseph and He’ll help you as well.
